Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations
Introduced in 2001, the .NAME generic extension is the sole TLD meant for personal web pages only. These domains can be personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other titles people are famous by. At the beginning, only 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you wanted to secure john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already registered 3rd-level domains remained working.
Through our company, you can buy your .NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will have the chance to update the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our firm if you acquire its EPP transfer authorization code from the present registration provider and we will renew it after the transfer has been finalized. There are no special requirements on who can reserve a dot NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the idea behind its establishment alive, the Registry organization may check who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.
The dot NAME extension is one of the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no extra cost. In this way, your dot NAME domain will be recognized in your country or region with the right spelling in your native language.
